TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Art Equipment and Materials In my studio, studio easels/workbenches are available to everyone.   However, I don't supply personal art materials or outdoor equipment.   There are simply too many choices and too many individual differences for it to be practical.   It would also add to the workshop costs unnecessarily. On indoor workshops based away from my studio, e.g. in Dublin or Galway, you need to supply your own easel as well as your personal art materials and equipment.

When your deposit is received, I will send you a detailed list of what you need for each type of workshop and you choose what to buy from the recommended list. I also give specific recommendations for Beginners.   If in doubt, follow my recommendations.

Rental of Art Equipment I have a limited number of simple outdoor easels and folding chairs and low, small tables available for hire should you need them.   Please ensure you book them well in advance, especially on painting classes away from my studio, as I won't be carrying them unless previously booked.

Accommodation and lunches are organized by the participants themselves but on receipt of your deposit, on request you will receive details of local B&B and hotel facilities available.   Also, some B&Bs may provide packed lunches but there are always local shops where light lunch provisions can be purchased.

Reservations and Bookings 1,2,3 Steps   Because my classes have been very popular, and places are strictly limited, please

1) Contact Me Contact me first, to check there is a place available, or for further information.   If a place is available, your place is HELD for one week, pending receipt of deposit. If I don't receive the deposit within one week, the place HELD is released again for someone else.

2) Pay Deposit or Full Amount A deposit of €100 is required to secure a place on my workshops.  For 2 day weekend courses the full payment is required to secure your place.  On receipt of your deposit or full payment within one week of your place being HELD, I will write or e-mail you to RESERVE your place.     I will send you Accomodation choices if necessary, and equipment and materials required for the workshop at this stage.

3) Pay the Balance of Fees The balance of fees must be paid at least 4 weeks before the course start date, when I will CONFIRM your booking. This is essential from 2015 due to an inordinate number of late cancellations in 2014.

If payment of the balance outstanding is not received by this date, I reserve the right to withdraw and re-allocate the RESERVED place with full repayment of any deposit already paid.   I'm afraid I must enforce this 4-week full payment condition from 2015 onwards, as I had quite a few very late cancellations in 2014 - that left those on waiting lists unnecessarily disappointed, and left me disappointed too!

If You Have to Cancel Cancellations made 4 weeks or more before the start date will receive their deposit back in full; cancellations within 4 weeks of start are non-refundable unless the place is subsequently filled - deposits however will go towards future course fees within the following calendar year only.

If I have to Cancel the Workshop I reserve the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient bookings up to two weeks prior to the scheduled start date, or for any other unforeseen reason that might jeopardize the quality of the workshop - loss of tutor/unavailabilty of studio/base facilities for example. If for any unforeseen reason, such as illness, I am personally unable to run the course as scheduled, I will try to offer a suitable replacement tutor/facilities (as relevant) for these dates or offer to refund all monies paid, or if you prefer, you can reserve your place on the next suitable workshop.

Please note that I cannot be held responsible for any other costs incurred by intending students, such as travel or accommodation costs or deposits paid for travel or accomodation, in the event of a course cancellation or postponement for any reason whatsoever.
