Linear and Aerial Perspective - simply explained, demonstrated and practiced

6th & 7th June 2020  at The Schoolhouse for Art, Enniskerry

Workshop Fee €195

For most artists, PERSPECTIVE is the dreaded word!  We're afraid of it, we don't understand it, and it seems so complicated.

Well it's not, and once you get the hang of it, your paintings will improve dramatically.

There are two types of perspective - LINEAR and AERIAL - and I will explain both these concepts in really simple step by step illustrations,  and I'll assist you with similar drawing and painting exercises that will develop your confidence in grasping this apparently challenging aspect of good drawing and painting.

It's two days that could change your paintings forever!

Linear perspective is about how objects such as buildings, roads etc seem to 'vanish' towards certain points in the landscape.  But believe it or not, linear perspective also applies to still life and even portrait drawings and paintings - so it's essential to have a good understanding of linear perspective.

Aerial perspective is about how the atmosphere surrounding us affects how we see colour and tone in the distance, not to mention how distance affects size, details and other aspects of painting.  Again, we'll do a small painting that will illustrate the various things that aerial perspective affects in our work.

As I say, this workshop is just two days that could open your eyes and leave you PERFECTLY UN-PERPLEXED regarding PERSPECTIVE !!
