Hi Everyone -

In 2018 I'll be running six public workshops - I hope you find at least one to your liking. I try to combine lots of practical information, demonstrations and one-to-one advice as you paint in my workshops, while taking a supportive positive approach to everyone, no matter how little or how much experience you have.  I'm there to help you develop as an artist, and I believe it should be a really enjoyable experience.

I'm working with Schoolhouse for Art, The Square, Enniskerry in 2018

I'm pleased to announce that I'll be running three workshops in 2018 in association with Schoolhouse for Art, based in beautiful Enniskerry just south of Dublin.  I've always enjoyed running workshops in Dublin, so this tie-up is very welcome.

Schoolhouse for Art is a great resource for artists - they organise a wide range of courses and workshops so I'd encourage everyone to check out their website www.schoolhouseforart.com. Their studios are based at the Square, right in the centre of Enniskerry village.

If you need further details about any of my workshops feel free to email me, but if you'd like to attend any of the Enniskerry workshops then -

- you need to contact Schoolhouse for Art - I don't take bookings for these particular workshops.  Simply go to their website, click on the workshop you wish to attend, and click the Purchase button, then follow the on-screen instructions. If you've any difficulties just call them and they'll sort everything out for you.  www.schoolhouseforart.com

For the Delphi and Roundstone workshops, you book on my website, this website. Go to the webpage for the particular workshop and scroll to the bottom of the page where you can pay a deposit or the full fee using the PayPal button.

I hope you find there's a workshop for you in this year's selection.  I've tried to include every level of painter, and I'm particularly looking forward to meeting up with new painters as well as my many regular and loyal supporters during the year.

If you'd like to ensure you get notified of my future workshops, please use the Contact page and send me an email - I'll put your email address on my general mailing list.

John Dinan  -  Art Teacher for every level of experience

"Fantastic - I have learned more in one week than I have with ten years of art classes" AD

"As a person who evaluated teachers for over 20 years, I found

your method, presentation and delivery is 'off the charts' "BC

"I was never taught in such a clear, systematic way about

painting" MD

"Great atmosphere, genuine and caring for all" SW

"I found it great" RT

"It recharged my interest, great revision" JD

"Excellent, your attention to detail, dedication, enthusiasm and kindness were second to none" PC

"I see colour where I never saw it before" ES

John Dinan has earned a reputation as one of Ireland's best practical painting teachers - his participants say they learn more with him than they've learned with anyone else about how to paint and draw, and in a really enjoyable atmosphere.

His secrets are - decades of personal experience in painting, drawing as well as being a professional trainer - and plenty of preparation for every course.   Plus his endless enthusiasm and enjoyment in helping other artists to improve - whether at Intermediate or Advanced level, and occasionally at absolute Beginner level. John also has many Arts Graduate or Professional artists attend his courses and always gets great commendations.

"I love teaching art, I get a real 'buzz' from demystifying the process of painting, helping participants understand what 'makes' a great painting, so they can continue to create successful paintings after my workshops."

"I also love having people around with similar enthusiasm for making art. From the feedback I get from participants, I'm confident they learn a great deal from my painting classes in a very short time, particularly in the practical sense of HOW TO paint a good picture."
