2019 Painting Workshops

Hi Everyone -

In 2019 I'll be running just four public workshops - I hope you find at least one to your liking. Keep an eye on my website from time to time as it's possible that I may add a workshop to this programme.

I try to combine lots of practical information, demonstrations and one-to-one advice as you paint in my workshops, while taking a supportive positive approach to everyone, no matter how little or how much experience you have.  I'm there to help you develop as an artist, and I believe it should be a really enjoyable experience.

I've summarised the four workshops here, but click (on left of this page) to get more detail of each particular workshop, and for booking details - it's different depending on whether the workshop is run in Schoolhouse for Art or by me in Roundstone.

John Dinan  -  Art Teacher for every level of experience

"Fantastic - I have learned more in one week than I have with ten years of art classes" AD

"As a person who evaluated teachers for over 20 years, I found

your method, presentation and delivery is 'off the charts' "BC

"I was never taught in such a clear, systematic way about

painting" MD

"Great atmosphere, genuine and caring for all" SW

"I found it great" RT

"It recharged my interest, great revision" JD

"Excellent, your attention to detail, dedication, enthusiasm and kindness were second to none" PC

"I see colour where I never saw it before" ES

John Dinan has earned a reputation as one of Ireland's best practical painting teachers - his participants say they learn more with him than they've learned with anyone else about how to paint and draw, and in a really enjoyable atmosphere.

His secrets are - decades of personal experience in painting, drawing as well as being a professional trainer - and plenty of preparation for every course.   Plus his endless enthusiasm and enjoyment in helping other artists to improve - whether at Intermediate or Advanced level, and occasionally at absolute Beginner level. John also has many Arts Graduate or Professional artists attend his courses and always gets great commendations.

"I love teaching art, I get a real 'buzz' from demystifying the process of painting, helping participants understand what 'makes' a great painting, so they can continue to create successful paintings after my workshops."

"I also love having people around with similar enthusiasm for making art. From the feedback I get from participants, I'm confident they learn a great deal from my painting classes in a very short time, particularly in the practical sense of HOW TO paint a good picture."
